Unlike psychoactive compounds, non-psychoactive substances do not have significant effects on brain function, processes, perception and behaviour when consumed.

Non-psychoactive products or compounds do not evoke ‘intoxicating’ effects or alter mental processes in the same way as psychoactive substances. CBD is an example of a non-psychoactive chemical that naturally occurs in cannabis and hemp plants.
